One man with courage makes a majority.
– Andrew Jackson
Chartered by Congress in 1958, The Military Order of the Purple Heart is composed of military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. Although our membership is restricted to the combat wounded, we support all veterans and their families with a myriad of nation-wide programs by Chapters and National Service Officers.
We’re here to help Veterans
Veterans have given so much to their community and their country, our job is to help them in any way that we can. If you or somebody you know needs help, here are a few programs we can recommend.
The Service Program
The Order's Annual Operating Budget is approximately $9 million, of which $6 million goes to support the Service Program.

Apply for Membership
By becoming a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart you help keep alive the history and ideals for which you were awarded the Purple Heart. You are able to enjoy fraternity and fellowship with other veterans who have the common bond of being wounded in combat and recognized for that sacrifice.
Local chapters of the MOPH hold regular meetings. They are involved in numerous social and civic activities centered around veterans and their families, especially those being treated at VA facilities. You can also be a part of the MOPH annual National Convention. There is always a full roster of activities for members and their families. Between the official activities of the Convention, there is time for relaxation and a chance to renew old friendships and make new ones.
These are just a few of the benefits our members enjoy. To find out more, please fill out and submit this form.
